Bon Secours Hampton Roads and Lakeview Medical Center have partnered to establish the
Mid-Atlantic Hearing and Balance Center. This highly-specialized program offers state-of-the-art
diagnostic and treatment options to patients with hearing loss, balance disorders plus disorders of the middle
ear and mastoid.
The program's medical director, L. Frederick Lassen, M.D., is a
nationally recognized neurotologist. Dr. Lassen is a recently retired Navy captain
and a previous ENT department chairman. He pioneered virtually all of the new
and innovative otological operative procedures in the United States Navy over the
past 15 years, including adult and child cochlear implants, bone-anchored hearing
devices and electromagnetic middle ear implants for sensorineural hearing loss.
